Game Rules

HOW TO PLAY "BUSINESS CLUB"?

  • From two to six people can participate in the game.
  • The playing field consists of GAME FIELDS and COMPANY FIELDS. There are nine playing fields: RAW MATERIAL EXTRACTION, PRODUCTION, SALES, MARKET, BANK, ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT, CRISIS, ANTITRUST AUDIT, BUSINESS CLUB. There are thirty-eight company fields.
  • All companies are divided into:
    • MINING - there are eight of them, they are marked with the inscription "raw material extraction" and produce universal raw materials that are necessary for production companies.
    • PRODUCTION - there are fifteen of them, five companies in three industries - "car production", "computer production", "plane production". Each industry produces its own type of product from universal raw materials - cars, computers and planes.
    • SALES COMPANIES - there are fifteen of them, four companies in each, selling products of the corresponding production industries: sales of cars, computers and planes, and three SUPERMARKETS selling any type of products of production companies.
Each company is characterized by two numbers indicated on its field: the upper number indicates the value of the company when it is bought or sold by a player, the lower number indicates the maximum one-time (in one turn) volume of production (raw materials or goods) or sales.
  • In one turn you can:
    • Buy or sell companies at the specified fixed price. The token goes to the "MARKET" game field.
    • Obtain raw materials if you own a raw materials company. The player's raw materials amount increases by the amount of your raw materials company's one-time production volume (the lower number on the firm's field). The token goes to the "RAW MATERIALS EXTRACTION" game field.
    • Produce goods if you own a production company and have raw materials. Production is carried out by exchanging raw materials for the same amount of the corresponding goods, but not more than your company's one-time production volume (the lower number on the firm's field). The token goes to the "PRODUCTION" game field.
    • Sell goods if you own a store selling these goods or a supermarket. The goods are sold by exchanging the goods for the same amount of money, but not more than your store's one-time sales volume (the lower number on the store's field). If you own a supermarket, you can sell various goods in one turn for an amount not exceeding the sales volume of your supermarket.
    • Take a loan from 1 to 20 money from a bank at interest or return the loan with interest. The terms of the loan and return are set out below.
  • You can influence the business activities of your partners by placing your token on the fields below, which means:
    • "CRISIS" - a crisis of overproduction of goods has set in. SALES operations of ALL players are stopped while at least one token is on this field. In other words, you block the SALES field.
    • "ENVIRONMENTAL EXPERTISE" – production companies "pollute" the environment - it is impossible for all players to PRODUCE GOODS (the PRODUCTION field is blocked).
    • "ANTITRUST AUDIT" - all MONOPOLIST PLAYERS pay a tax of 50% of the money they have, MONOPOLISTS are those players who simultaneously own:
      1. a raw materials company
      2. a production company
      3. a store selling goods from their production company or a supermarket.
  • And the last game field is the "BUSINESS CLUB" field, which gave the name to the whole game. Players whose tokens are on the "BUSINESS CLUB" field can conclude DEALS on a CONTRACTUAL BASIS. There may be situations when you can dictate your terms to other players when concluding deals if no one else can provide what other players need (for example, you bought up all the raw materials).

RULES OF TURNS:

  1. Players take turns.
  2. A player can place his token on any game field, regardless of whether it is occupied or not.
  3. It is NOT ALLOWED to stay on the same field for a second turn.
  4. The "BUSINESS CLUB" game field is an exception. You can stay on this field an unlimited number of turns.
  5. The owner of several raw materials companies can extract raw materials in one turn only at one (any) of his companies.
  6. The owner of several production companies can produce goods in one turn only at one (any) of his companies.
  7. The owner of several stores or SUPERMARKETS can sell goods in one turn only at one (any) of his stores (SUPERMARKET).
  8. A player performs game actions (purchase or sale of companies, receipt and repayment of a loan, extraction of raw materials, production and sale of goods) only during his turn. After completing the game actions he has planned, the player passes the right of turn to the next player.

PROCEDURE FOR TAKING A LOAN:

  1. The initial capital of each player is 20 money.
  2. You have the right to take a loan from the bank in the amount of 1 to 20 money. But this loan is given at interest. For each turn you make, you are credited with 5% of the amount of the loan taken. If you have not returned the loan with interest after twenty turns, the amount on which the interest is calculated is doubled.
  3. The loan is given for a period of no more than 30 turns. If the player has not returned the loan with interest by turn 31, he is declared bankrupt and leaves the game.
  4. When the loan is returned, the token moves to the "BANK" field.

FINISHING THE GAME:

The winner is the first player to earn the amount of money set before the start of the game (from 300 to 3000) without any debts.
